Not quite extinct....

So our elf friend is on her way to the meeting that will soon create the fellowship. After setting up camp she walks to the stream close by, while filling a flask of water she hears a twig crack behind her. She can sense a huge presence. She turns quickly drawing a bow. And comes face to face with an unusually pale creature she had only heard of in legends. It was an Elfin Horse that was the last decedent of the fantasy that was the unicorn. She quickly drops the bow and arrow and freezes. The creature looks like a horse with elongated legs and a longer neck than any she had ever seen. It's pale white mane and tale longer than her own nearly translucent locks, yet the same shade. She puts up her hand and walks slowly takes a few tentative steps forward. She stops, her hand not but a foot away from the horse. It looks at her hand and straight at her face. It takes one step forward, connecting it's muzzle to her palm. And instantly she had made a new friend.
